I am not exactly sure when I was gifted my Canon AE-1 Program film SLR, but over the years, it has become my favorite camera. Having film labs accessible in town has decreased over the years with the rise of digital technologies, but I will always favor black and white film (even if the remaining lab near me doesn’t develop all that well). Every year since my first camera, I have always taken a few photos out at my grandpa’s place. Sometimes it is hard to come away with new images, but I am always up to the challenge.
This particular morning, we scouted out several fishing spots. We went early and there was still fog lifting from the ground. I don’t think we had any fish bite, but we did see deer by the lake.
My grandpa turned 96 this year. He’s the one fishing in the last image. From farm boy to soldier to husband and father to factory manager to retiree, he is living quite the life. Dad joined us for the fishing trip. I don’t think either caught any fish that morning.
Thanks for stopping by today!
