Maymont in Richmond, Virginia

Last Saturday, I drove to the Richmond area and joined my sister and her boyfriend for a trip to Maymont. We visited the Nature Center first. It has lots of information about wildlife and environmental things. The aquariums and terrariums were the best part – or perhaps the volunteer who was holding a corn snake. We also took a walk up and down the hills to the manor side of the property. There are many interesting trees with sprawling buttressing roots.

In the Nature Center, there is a case with a miniature to-scale replica of the grounds.

My sister, in the photo below, is hiding her boyfriend’s shirt since it’s a Pokemon shirt and not “photogenic.” Aren’t they cute?

We had lunch out near Cary Street at an organic grocery.
