A Mid-August Update

I have been on a bit of hiatus this summer in regard to art — partly due to finances. In April, my dogs both had dental surgeries, and I am paying off the bills. Therefore, I don’t have any extra money to put towards pottery this summer and fall.

One of my slow-going projects is painting a mural in my house. I have a section of hallway that is its own space and a prime place to practice painting a mural. Currently, I need to finish up the base coat of green, repaint the ceiling, and further plan out the details. It will likely have a botanical theme. Since it is a darker area of the house, I may incorporate some reflective details like high gloss paint, glittery paint, or a gold paint pen.

In other news, national politics is heating up in the US as we head towards Election Day in November. This morning, I leave you with the following quote:

“In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story.” (Walter Cronkite)
